About Roger Kim
Roger Kim is the current verger and information liaison for Grace Ministries, an outreach of the Free Episcopal Church in the Chicago area. He also serves as the treasurer of the Free Episcopal Church.
Born in California, Roger moved to the Chicago area as a young child. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Viet Nam era. He has been employed in the telecommunications industry for over thirty years. Mr. Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral science from National-Louis University in 2002. Roger finished a M.S. in human services with an emphasis in gerontology/elder care in 2006 also at National-Louis University. Roger plans to build a ministry that combines advocacy and spirituality for seniors…especially for those who are no longer able to be independent. Mr. Kim is a history buff. His special interest is US Civil War history. He has participated in Civil War re-enactments. He has also been active as a fundraiser for an animal rescue group, Guardian Angel Basset Rescue.
Roger and his wife Sherrie Albrecht have been married since 1976. They reside in Wheaton IL. They have one grown daughter, Janet, who also lives in the Chicago area.
